Thirty six students from 14 elementary, middle and high schools were presented with beautiful blue glass plaques for their work in the Open Science. Board of Education member Eric Mar, San Francisco Supervisor Carmen Chu, and San Francisco Giants pitcher Keiichi Yabu were on hand to greet the children while former interim Superintendent Gwen Chan and Kimochi, Inc Executive Director Steve Nakajo co-emceed the event.
