Sgraffito Pottery

Thursday, October 29, 2009

Sgraffito pottery was once considered the ships of the Kings. From the Byzantine emperors, Russian czars has been the sgraffito earthenware for the blue-bloods "of the finest houses in Europe. Sgraffito ceramics by the complicated designs that actually defines scratched the surface of the clay before firing. This type of pottery is often made with bright colors and coated with a lighter liquid tone for contrast. It is at this point that the patterns are carved intoceramics shows the base color underneath.

This kind of earth ware can be traced all the way back to the Sung Dynasty in China. There is a vase as "Chou-T'zu vase comes from the 11 to 12 century AD. They said, sgraffito can be found in many ancient cultures in the world. It became very popular among the many dishes in Italy the Renaissance. It is a style of pottery, which quickly became very sought after and collectible.

There are certainly a number of veryexpensive places online, they buy art, but it can be difficult to find, beautiful yet affordable Sgriffito ceramics. Many of these places were also out of my price range. But I saw some nice, affordable examples at Plimoth Plantation in Plymouth, MA, if we are on vacation on Cape Cod The plantation is a living museum where costumed interpreters portray actual people from the founding of the first English colony in New England. In addition to this wonderful recreation havean excellent craft center, where you not only watch modern craftsmen, potters, furniture makers, embroiderers and local craftsmen to design and create their wares, but you can buy these fine gifts as well. In addition to the plates, I bought myself managed to get a pitcher and a few cups and. I want to fetch a couple of cups as a gift so have an online gift shop happy.

Is Bottled Water Truly Safe?

Monday, October 26, 2009

The fact is that drinking is healthy. Do not drink from plastic bottles.

The Natural Resources Defense Council, or NRDC, have a four-year study on the mineral industry and the safety of their products. It turned out that there is no guarantee of safety in drinking water from bottled water, and there is no clear evidence that they cleaner than tap water. Studies have shown that an estimated 25% of commercially produced bottles of bottled water is simple - your tapWater in a plastic bottle.

People were lured by the convenience of these plastic bottles, which is really handy when it comes to travel to work, to school, or even the Outback. Studies have shown that the majority of people love to drink from plastic bottles out of the need for better water taste and the conviction that it is healthier than tap water.

The fact is that water is not poisonous, but the materials used on your plastic bottles!

Bottled water providesinnocent and pure, especially in clear plastic. The picture of the feelings may be drinking water from a mountain stream calling for a long walk in the middle of the desert heat. There is still a debate about the risks of drinking water made of plastic, and it has something to do with chemical leaks. Those who are a weak immune system, how are children, the elderly and patients with critical conditions at higher risk. For this reason, a campaign against chemicalLiquor is run and hit for the FDA to reconsider.

Bisphenol A: The Unseen Danger and Controversial Plastic

Many health professionals in the public sector have been growing concerns about the use of bisphenol A or BPA in hard, clear polycarbonate plastics. It is a call to make plastic BPA-free, especially when they come from everything we see in our homes - from baby bottles, food containers, drink the bottle of over-hype, where ourWater.

What is very alarming, with BPA, the tendency to mimic the body's own estrogen to interfere with your hormones and healthy cells. These endocrine disruptors are known to expose human breast and prostate cancer, not to mention a decline in sperm counts in men. Infants, toddlers and children have a higher risk of exposure. In fact, the more you reuse these harmful plastic, the more you release the harmful chemicals. If mothers cook for their children's baby bottles, theyunwittingly contribute to the release of toxins with heat.

A recent study by the Harvard School of Public Health found that those who drank water have this clear plastic bottles with a high level of bisphenol A in their urine - up to 69%. BPA was invented to replace canned goods, which are easily corroded, the consumers a better way of storing their food and drinks. There are few options that people have especially when it comes to the storage of food.

BisphenolA first approved by the FDA in the early 60s. This chemical is what the most plastic hard and clear. It was in August 2008, when published a draft that these chemicals are safe to use in food storage. Canada have already banned this chemical and many other countries in the EU. Due to the increasing number of concerns and a certificate of the last 3rd June 2009, the FDA Commissioner Dr. Margaret A. Hamburg, the questions about BPA has been lifted and taken a team of scientists, includinga fresh look at the case of bisphenol A. There are still gaping holes in the regulations of tap water and bottled water, and anything we can do is, on issues to remain vigilant, affects our health very much.

Bottled Water: Is it pure water?

The answer is always a tricky, especially when there are many bottled water labels misleading. Here is the truth behind the labels (source: NRDC):

Spring water with all the mountains and lake pictures are made byMay contain industrial warehouse facilities, hazardous solvents, which are above what EPA and the FDA considered a standard.
Be wary of bottles of water with false therapeutic claims, which are not regulated or approved by the FDA. Imported bottled water are about local safety inspection, so you double your precautions.
Mineral water and tap water are not compatible with each other in quality. Whereas tap water is controlled by government-certified laboratories, bottled water is less controlled.
There aredocumented in lists and reports of contaminants found in bottled water, which means that they are not as secure as you believe them to be. Associated in fact, has been an outbreak of cholera in 1994, that in Saipan, a U.S. territory has happened, bottled water consumption.
Intelligent people will tell you that you are what you eat and drink. But will people smarter question of quality, something that could lead to food and water. Pure water with a pH of 6.8-7.2. Lower share than the fundsare at risk for diseases that are caused by acid.
Beverages pH test results:

The Joy of Learning How to Make Your Own Candles

Saturday, October 24, 2009

Although most people have seen their lives candles, many never tried to make them. If you make your own candles, you have the opportunity, fun and satisfying experience for themselves. Candles are a simple, if the world moves slowly, and the neighbors had time to visit and share with each other.

To begin the candle as a hobby, you need some items that you may not nominate or items you have for the purposes of making candles to collect. If you plan toPots must be from the kitchen, you no longer use it for food preparation.

A water bath is the preferred way to melt wax. The reason is the direct heat from the wax to hold because of the combustibility. There is also a better control of the consistent heat, and the wax does not heat too fast. If you only try the wax on a hob melt, there is a good chance to scorch it or, worse, catch on fire. You can use two pots in various sizes to achieve the same effectResults, but if you should familiarize yourself with candles many times, you invest in a water bath.

You can not deal with hot wax, without a cooking thermometer. There are critical temperatures, which are maintained with wax. Guess work is not an option.

For the filling, the hot wax into the molds or containers, you need a pitcher or large slotted spoon. You can use both.

There are many types of wicks tested. The basic wicks used for container, dipped his hand orTower candles are woven cotton with a hard core. Use the core to lead, but this was banned in the United States because of lead poisoning concerns. Zinc is usually the center now, along with synthetic materials and hard papers. The dimensional size of the wick is important, on the basis of the candle you make.

May, together with the wick, you need clips for the bottom. Hold the wick in force when you pour the wax. Some patients with metal washers to the end of the tiedWick.

Long stirring spoon for the hot wax are necessary utensils. Most candle makers prefer to use wooden spoons, but plastic enough if that's what you have as long as they can absorb the heat of the wax. You want to melt the wax, not your plastic spoon.

If you choose to make the container candles, you must have enough containers to use on hand for the amount of wax you. The vast majority of containers are made of tempered glass, but you can do almost everythingof cans to stoneware, as long as the container can heat the wax without cracking or resist melting.

You will need candles for tower mold. If you will only make a few candles, do not invest much money in it. You can always purchase additional forms later if you decide to make your candle next hobby.

If you choose your own candles, make sure that a block of time to devote himself exclusively to the manufacture of candles. They should be relaxed so that youfully enjoy the experience.

Thursday, October 22, 2009

How confident are you in your bed room?

Home - just the mere word you come to comfort and relaxation. That would, of course, is to mind as the home where people usually sleep and relax. In addition, you know that there are products in your home that endanger the lives and security so that they are not as safe housing, accessories. Typically, these products are used in everyday life, they are not so obvious that they are unsafe and dangerous. Included in the list of potentially dangerousProducts are carpet cleaners, dry cleaners, furniture polish, furniture polish, glass and window cleaners, mothballs, shoe polish and smoke detectors.

Now, what could be the reason why they considered as a safe home products in question? One of the main reasons is the hazardous materials from which these products. Let's start with the carpet cleaner. Perchlorethylene and naphthalene are two of the harmful elements that are considered toxic and carcinogenic. In the sameThus, it is also proven to damage the liver. For cleaning, carbon tetrachloride is considered as the most toxic. It was from the list of prohibited items for the budget, but still, there are many companies that offer more products with this chemical. As it would be cleaner with other substances such as glass and window cleaner and the furniture? Ammonia, and isopropanol are two of the most commonly used for these elements. Ammonia has been shown to irritate eyes and lungs and can cause skin rashesand burns on the skin. Isopropanol on the other side can cause irritation of the mucous membrane. Ingestion of which cause drowsiness, unconsciousness and even death.

Mothballs, and furniture polish are products that can be very tempting to children. Furniture Polis above all the colored look like a tasty beverage. Moth balls on the other hand, can lead children to eat it. These risks, together with the pollutants are that these products, they include unsafe and dangerous. And the shoePolish? Trichlorethylene and nitrobenzene are the most common materials used for shoe polish, and they are to be absolutely carcinogenic. That makes absolutely dangerous. These are just some of the damage that can cause these products. But if you want to stay away from the impact, the better for natural green cleaning products, nontoxic cleaners, choose green products, and of course, safe home products.

I have worked with these cleaners and have no problems had been experienced with the respiratory tract.

Why is Bottled Water Better Than Tap?

Tuesday, October 20, 2009

Why does mineral water is better than tap water in your house? In the U.S., many companies were forced to say STOP, that products are better, safer or purer than the publicly treated supplies in the country.

At Coca-Cola tries to Dasani in the UK release, they used advertising tricks indicates that their bottle was drinking "pure" as that was what people in their homes. The government decided to test their products in order to get the truth behind the advertisingSlogans.

What they have found high concentrations of cancer-causing chemical called bromate. A recall was forced, of course, and the product was never released in the country. One thing that makes this story interesting is that the source of coke a public offering outside of London and bromate was, is not in this source.

So, tell me again why mineral water is better than tap water?

Most people think it tastes better. Try a good filter on yourKitchen faucet. Fill a glass jar or bottle and let it cool in the refrigerator. If the system you buy an ion exchange step, you will not find something better tasting in a plastic bottle, anywhere.

You are mistaken if you believe that these plastic bottles containing spring water. There are two sources of bottling companies are used, providing the public wells and treated. If there is a Pepsi bottling plant in your area and buy Aquafina, you areactually buying a plastic bottle that you include your own tap water. The same goes for Coca-Cola and Nestle Pure Life.

So, once again, why mineral water is better than tap water? If you have a home air purifier, it is not.

The bottling companies are using a reverse osmosis system that can not remove chemicals like chlorine and bromate. Bromate is a THM and no reverse osmosis system can remove THM. Nobody knows why bromate was found in Dasani, since he was not present in the supply of the public.Something about the process caused Coke's has to form.

The best home systems to remove THM, bromate, and how it is a good thing, what they do. Current research indicates that exposure to THM, found at a level generally in households with chlorinated water, doubled the risk of bladder cancer. Exposure can also occur in the shower. Can bottled water shower? Can you cook with it, make coffee with him, or brushing your teeth with it? You could, but it would be terribly expensive.

Is bottled waterbetter than tap water when it comes to the environment and our diminishing fresh water sources? Are you recycling all that plastic bottles and threw them in the trash? It is estimated that 80% of the bottles do not get recycled. Did you know that cities in Maine, which ran out of water? The cause was the enormous quantity of groundwater that Poland Springs draws from this aquifer.

Hopefully you will see the answer as to why mineral water is better than tap water. Buy a home air cleaner and savethe environment.

Soap Pot: You need a big pot for mixing soap. This should unchipped email or stainless steel to be produced. Liquor iscorrode most other materials. Smaller pots can keep your batch of soap, but they will not be enough room for stirring. When choosing a pot, choose one that is tall and narrow to short and wide. Soap in a pot grows more efficient mixing.

Plastic jugs: You're two plastic jugs for Missing and pour the lye solution required. The cans should be pouring spouts, removable lids, either snap or screw firmly and safely treated. SelectCans, "dishwasher safe". This can be kind of pitchers, the liquor, the heat can accommodate up to 200 degrees. Do not use glass or metal. Make sure you know how to read your thermometer as inaccurate readings can ruin a gameSoap!

Safety Glasses: Always goggles / glasses when mixing soap to protect your eyes from the sodium hydroxide solution.

Rubber Gloves: You'll also want rubber gloves to protect your hands and forearms of the possibility of a chemical burn.

Cover: You also need a sufficient supply of paper or plastic for all counter top surfaces and protect them from the caustic lye. Lye will completely destroy Formica and other laminated surfaces. VerifyThey all work surfaces protected from the beginning.

Ladle: A pan comes in very hand for the transfer of the soap from the pot into the mold. Use either wood or steel.

Knives: You also want a sharp knife for chopping suet or beef fat for the presentation and also to cut your soap into bars.

Large plastic container with lid: This is used as a primary tool and is your basic liquid soap to keep. It must of course be large enough to accommodate the soapBatch. Clear plastic works well because it allows you to have any problems with your soap on the spot, before you try to remove it.

Blankets or towels: These are used to pack to keep your primary form of soap from cooling too quickly.

A screen, freezer, or Butcher's paper. After you cut your block of soap into bars, you will need a place for them to heal. What is healing not to color bars impregnated materials such as cardboard, like the color of your soap can be transmitted.

Grater: IfYou plan your major bars in the hand turn milled soap, you will need a grater, grate the soap into small pieces.

Soap Molds: This may be the creative part of Soapmaking process. Use your imagination when selecting a tool, such as soap-fashioned forms of gelatin, microwave containers, candy molds, or my personal favorite - the hexagonal container for the Folgers coffee specialty. These make great bath-sized bars with beautiful cut corners. Some considerations mustFill in your forms are:

· Flexible forms are better than those that are completely ridged, like the rods are easier to remove.

· Mold material must be able to withstand high temperature of the hot soap.

· The open end must be greater than the closed end, or you will not be able to remove the soap.

Materials Plastic and stainless steel are generally the best form of substance. Glass and porcelain forms could be adopted, but the soap will not be easyremove.

Additives: What is in your soaps limited only by your imagination and the desired result. The best way to determine what to add to your soaps, is what you think hope to achieve with the final product. Are you trying to treat a particular condition of the skin as dry skin or acne? Or are you hoping for a more general soap, which can be milled into a variety of uses such as shampoo or detergent? Some soap additives are:

· Herbs: a wonderful herbal soapAdditive and can treat a variety of skin diseases. For ideas or qualities of certain herbs http://usingherbs.com try for detailed information about herbs, their properties and uses.

· Essential oils: Essential oils are perfect for scenting your soaps. Unlike many other types of oils are extracted from the plant source and are very potent, their fragrance often lasts longer than synthetic fragrances.

· Essential oils: These oils are often used in potpourri and are made ofsynthetic. While generally not as durable as essential oils, they offer a unique fragrance combinations.

Lightly Flavored? Water?

Friday, October 16, 2009

It jumped right out at me, that ad in one of these decidedly upscale consumer magazines. Do not get me wrong, I know not to subscribe to it. I do not fit his readers profile. Would that be do not want. The magazine was actually sent a free sample, something which I for. I will try everything possible to free. Well, almost. But this particular ad just jumped out and bit me in the nose.

The headline says something to read "Easy Flavored Water!" That's what grabbed my attention. I had notheard that term before. Slightly flavored water? OK, I said, "I have been reading more about this taste experience," the ad touting. I had apparently missed one of the most intriguing taste pleasures of life.

As I read further, I could not laugh. The ad me back a few years at a time when my wife and I - were started along with some other couples of our time - our families. Money for us and our circle of friends at that time was much narrower than inhas over the years.

A couple in this group included my cousin and her husband, a nice guy, in the process of building a company, he would by borrowing against everything that he had bought. But, hey, were many of us that bitten by the bug then. We all wanted to own our own businesses. Some of us made, others not. Kinda like the world today.

But what struck me chuckle when I read more about "Easy Flavored Water" in this yuppie magazine was how theWorld seems to have almost full circle without my coming.

My cousin, bless her, had a reputation back then develops is frugal. "Cheap" was really the word we used. But only if they are not within earshot. "Thrifty" was not a word that we knew the meaning. But we were well aware of "cheap." And were cheap and cousin Sherry - all because of the "Easy Flavored Water synonymous."

Nothing with that name, there was at that time. In fact, the peoplenot yet aware that she would one day like to pay much money for bottled water. Water was free. It came from the faucet of the sink. Now no one can attack at home without leaving a bottle of water - 16 ounces for only € 1.29. On sale. Everyone is wondering why you do not think this gimmick?

"Easy Flavored Water" is an even better gimmick. And it was invented by my cousin Sherry years. Although she did not know it at the time. And theyhas not made even one cent from the narrow idea since. But "easy Flavored Water" is what it deserves the name, Cheap sherry. And we are not talking about wine, either.

Every time that we visit Sherry and her husband, her drink du jour was Kool-Aid ®. But not just any Kool-Aid. Sherry had a way for turning 10-cent packet Kook-Aid in a sea of Kool-Aid.

While it may be started as a jug of water with taste of fruits when it got down to business, thelast glass of Kool-Aid into the pitcher, Cindy would head back into her kitchen and fill the jug with water.

What to drink spiced originally as a ruby red, pink fruit soon. And by the time of the evening was about the pink liquid was brighter and brighter until it is almost as clear as the water, always resorting to the pitcher.

At the end of the evening was what we were drinking ... You guessed it. "Easy Flavored Water." Andcertainly not cost $ 2.00 a pint. Heck, one cent envelope of Kool-Aid, Sherry could serve a lot of thirsty friends for an entire evening. Endless.

Bless you cousin, ingenuity, that you, if perhaps a little ahead of the curve when it came to "Easy Flavored Water." If we had only known, we could all have been successful.

Ceramic Restoration - How Millenia-Old Pottery Pieces Are Preserved

Tuesday, October 13, 2009

Ceramic has a part of daily life almost since the beginning of civilization. We have dishes and other types of pottery that have survived from the nations and people who have lived more than 10,000 years ago. Ceramics from times gone by to tell us much about the habits and culture of the people to whom they belonged. That is why so much care is taken during archaeological excavations in order to preserve and restore discovered pottery.

But they were not only an instrument of ancient civilizations, we useThey are still in the form of bowls, cups, vases, and various artistic statues and figurines. And if this case proved to be particularly valuable or sentimental to us, we will do everything we can to do to restore the ceramic in its original condition.

Ceramic restorations can take many different forms and different methods are employed depending on the type and age of the ceramic piece. For example, the goal of restoring the old centuries or even millennia-old pottery, as few changespreserve the original design as possible, as much information as possible on the ceramics.

Restoration projects have included the use of things like garlic and mulberry juice, tree sap, resins, and insects such as shellac. Some restorers are also glues from fish or animal hides to reconstruct the ancient ceramics. As far back as the 1500s, were the Chinese invented porcelain ceramic repair glue recipes. Their sticky potions contain ingredients such as protein,Wheat gluten and line, bamboo and resin.

One of the problems with the use of adhesives is now on ceramic restorations projects that glues necessarily turn yellow or lose its adhesive properties after many years. If you try to remove an object because of the practicability, this should not be a problem, but if the object has a lot of important aesthetic value, it is not always accepted that an adhesive discolored or use is crystallized after 30 yearsso.

In addition to adhesives can be used in mechanical repair techniques in the ceramic restoration. One such method is the old holes on both sides of the crack or break, and drilling through some type of cord or strap to tie the pieces together feed. If the exact look of the piece is not the main focus, but rather the functionality of the object, the ceramic restoration, carried out by other materials to fill the role of the missing pieces.

For example, silver tea spoutsand pewter handles on pots and jugs were often the result of random breaks in the daily ceramics. Some mechanical repairs were still very much in vogue until the last century. Metal rivets, laces, and pegs were some of the most common methods.

Today, to make an ideal ceramic restorations, is the first step in the pottery thoroughly clean surfaces, especially in the area of break or crack. To get rid of stains and dirt, the use of laser, steam --Wands, weak acids, alkalis, and some special cleaning agents can be very useful. You'll be surprised how much attention to this first cleaning can contribute to a successful ceramic restorations and reduce the need for re-restorations in the future.

If you are not particularly interested in the preservation of the exact characteristics of your pottery before the break or crack, with an airbrush, paints and coatings can help to hide the problem areas. And in any case, if youdo not feel threatened by the despair of a ceramic restoration project! There are many companies that specialize in restoring your pottery and ceramics to their former glory.

Model Ship Building - Secret Shortcuts and Expert Tips

Tuesday, October 6, 2009

Unlike most hobbies, ship model making requires few expensive tools. Almost every household contains the beginnings of a fine model maker's tool kit. The rest can be made, improvised, and bought as the work progresses.

Especially tools for the manufacturers of ship models is his knife. It can be anything from an inexpensive pocketknife, a high-grade wood carver's tool. Price and handle style are unimportant as long as the blade is sharp and has the quality of the recording and practice of aEdge. Many experts rely on different types of "Slöjd" or bank knife. Others use nothing more than an ordinary pocket knife, and others, the cost-ground vegetable knife kitchen knives, and sharpened to feel comfortable shapes, can be best suited for the job.

For the special carving and whittling jobs that are often required of models, as well as for general shaping and roughing, the layman can be discarded on its way from sections of specially shaped knife blades hack. Land forShape, hardened, honed to a fine edge, and mounted in suitable grips, they are one of the most useful sets of tools that can have the model builder. To sharpen a knife, just his teeth, and the form at the end. Then, as a precursor to the hardening, grind one side of light or polish them with emery paper.

While you're polishing the blade, put an iron bar in your furnace or forge, and heat until it becomes red hot. Take your knife with a pair ofHot tongs or pliers on the handle end, or tang, and you move the blade through the iron grate, making the polished surface to a light brown. Then they quickly plunge vertically into a bucket or jug with water. Finally, give the blade its final grinding and sharpening. In grinding of thin instruments careful not to draw the mood. If you use an emery wheel, you should keep the work cool by dipping it frequently in water.

If during the process of designing your knife, you will file a series ofof V-notches in the opposite side of the blade, you can provide an excellent tool for marking lines on the deck planking imitation of your ship models. Grind the top edge of the blade to a rounded point, file in ten or twelve teeth on the highest point of the curve, and then with a fine flat file, slightly dull the tips of the teeth. Lines are drawn on the wood with a pencil and the tool back and forth over the lines with a slight pressure. To ensure thatstraight lines, it is true, and a uniform, you can guide the tool with a ruler.

Tiny furrows in various shapes and sizes can be also used hack saw blades. The blade is dark only by heating to a softened and put it on a brick. After it was permitted to cool, the teeth are removed with a file.

The form is then gouge by a vise to the correct width and drive the blade into the hole by pounding a wooden long, round instrument with a win against himHolzhammer. Another and perhaps more accurate method is to cut a bead using block to fit the desired curve of the tube.

To stiffen the otherwise resilient blade, the curved channel running along the entire length of the tool. The edge of the tube, which has an inside and an outside bevel, should be characterized and partially tightened before it is cured.

Blunt on hardening the tool, heat the blade to a red held for about 1 cm of its length, vertical, they plunge into cold water. ToTemperament lighten it about 1 cm at the point and hold it over a flame in a way that the tool is heated in the middle. Watch the polished part of the blade, and as soon as a light brown or straw color appear, they plunge into the water. This should be an excellent knife for shipbuilding.

Fruit Tea - Recipe For a Lesser-Sweetened Version

Sunday, October 4, 2009

I was raised in the south, where a very sweet tea is the norm. In fact, if you sweetened in a restaurant and do not want to have your tea, you specify whether UN-sweetened tea. Most waiters / waitresses, south of the Mason-Dixon Line is automatically bring you sweet tea, if you ask for tea or iced tea. I have to actually wait until the restaurant staff made tea without sugar.

My grandmother works with 2 ½ cups of sugar in one liter of tea! It is a perfectly acceptable allocation ofgranulated cane product in a pitcher of Georgia tea. A lot of southerners, including most of my family members, love it, but I never learned to like the syrupy taste of it. Besides, the extra sugar only converts to fat and ends up on my hips and thighs, so I opt for a lesser-sweetened recipe.

I spent a couple of years in the north where sweet tea was not readily available. I was in heaven. I never had to worry when I drove away from the take-out window if I was going to gag on the first straw-filled my drink.

The same goes for fruit teas. Most are just too sweet for my taste. If I want fruit in a restaurant in Tennessee, I ask for half a glass of fruit tea and half a glass of unsweetened tea. I get crazy looks and get some normally free of charge for two drinks. Okay, here's my solution.

1. I do not drink tea in a Southern restaurant, where you can get the spout and control of sugar content in the people.
2. Make fruit at home with thisdelicious recipe. It tastes for every season!

* 4 family sized tea bags

1 ½ quarts boiling water

½ quarts cold water

** 1 quart orange juice

** 1 pint of apple or pineapple juice

** 1 pint lemonade

* Green tea has more health benefits (eg, antioxidant properties) than normal tea, but I lost the taste goes, if you add the remaining ingredients. If you want to try a more fruit, I suggest, with black or orange pekoe tea bags.Sweet Tea Southerner would never be green tea. Come to think of it, they would not use this recipe for fruit tea either!

** There are comparable amounts of juice mix.

Place tea bags in a single-serve gallons jug in which you plan to or store your brew.

Boiling water over tea bags and let steep for about an hour.

Discard tea bags, cold water and juice. Stirring and stored overnight in the refrigerator. Stir Serve cold to enjoy before casting, and.

5 Gallon Water Dispenser - Pros and Cons

Saturday, October 3, 2009

The use of bottled water around the globe has been rapidly increasing in recent years. With the belief that drinking bottled water is better for your health, many spend money on installing a 5 gallon water dispenser in their homes or offices. Before you decide whether or not you should do the same, make sure you are aware of the many factors involved in the making and use of water bottles, and the water contained.

The Pros of using bottle water dispensers are fairly obvious, but let's Take a closer look:

You have the choice of which provide water to the mark, since the majority of them are still using the 5-gallon bottles and standard home delivery services.

Freedom in the placement of the donor where you want, such as tables, desks, room corners, among the furniture.

No dealing with problems in public water supplies, like rust, shear, corrosion, cracks, holes and so on.

Independent source of water in cases where a water regime or disturbance inYour area, such as lack of water, no pressure exerted or clogged mains.

Easy to replace or update, without providing a dispenser while consuming installation work and dealing with water, pipes, wrenches and drilling holes.

The disadvantages are mainly to do with it, the safety, health and environmental considerations that come with the use of bottles:

Almost half of the brands that are sold as a virgin to sell clean, natural, healthy water, nothing more than tap water, are sometimes also treated to a several hundred times higher cost per gallon.

While municipal tap water tap is regularly tested by Environmental Protection Agency and its own standards, bottled water is not because these institutions have no authority over private water supply.

About 90% of the used water bottles are thrown into regular trash at the expense of higher costs for the environment.

The material (oil derived polyethylene terephthalate, also known as PET), used to a brandwater bottle, wastes up nearly 3 times more water to make than will ever go into the bottle!

PET production and the truck delivery of bottled water end up in air emissions that poison the air as well as adding to the overall cost because of the fuel used.

As you can see it really is a matter of accessibility and saving time, versus environmental care and awareness. With the increasing popularity of glass-made water bottles some of the issues are being resolved. Although heavier than those made of plastic, they are 100% secure and cost much less to produce. In the end, whether a 5-gallon water dispensers use is a personal decision each of us and what would continue to generate debate in the future.
